Behance Updates
As a follow up to my Finalcrit post earlier, I received a message from Scott at Behance just filling me in on some of their latest ideas for the site and I thought it would be a good idea to share them with everyone.
Behance are currently working on a new type of module for the projects that allows you to upload images more quickly to your profile.
One of the main things Behance is trying to focus on is helping disseminate designers work broadly.
Rather then have all of your work tucked away somewhere in a portfolio that people need to find, the project gallery's and filters were designed to generate attention, traffic, and lead people to your portfolio.
Behance is a "dissemination/network" tool more than just a portfolio host.

Webdesign
It include lists of web design resources put into sections and you can vote on them and add others. I really liked the retro design style.

Finalcrit - Designer Portfolios
There's alot of new online portfolio sites for Designers and Photographers appearing on the internet lately the biggest recently being Behance, I was very impressed with some of the features at Behance but it did take me a while to get used to using some of the features and took me about 3 hours to upload my Logo Design Portfolio there.
The new site on the scene is Finalcrit, similar to Behance but much easier to upload to. It had a very fast signup process which was pleasing as far as usability goes.
It only took me around an hour to prepare all my logos and upload them, I was very impressed at how you had the ability to change the style of your portfolio with 1 click and the added bonus of a description box and contact box actually on the portfolio meant if you send it to people they wouldn't have to navigate away from the page to get your details.

Typography
It took three years and three designers to develop FF Meta® Serif.
All through the ’90s, Erik Spiekermann made several attempts at designing a counterpart for his groundbreaking FF Meta®. Fans of Meta frequently asked him which serif face would best complement it. He recommended Swift™, Minion™, FF Clifford™, and others, until he realized that he should just buckle down and draw his own serif Meta. True to his principle of collaboration, Spiekermann enlisted the help of accomplished type designers Christian Schwartz and Kris Sowersby.
